H1N1 Virus Precautionary Update
Important notice regarding handshakes after games.
With the recent increase in illnesses reported in schools effective immediately HSMRA is implementing a glove on rule for handshakes after games. The purpose of this is to minimize the potential for spread of germs to keep our children well. Please ensure that your children and teams follow this rule.
As well:
1. Players are urged to report all illnesses to their parents and coaches (for communication purposes to other team members). Parents are urged to keep their children away from the Ringette environment if they are showing any signs of infectious disease or virus. Sick players are encouraged to see their physician if showing signs of symptoms of the H1N1 virus and to be fully recovered prior to returning to play.
2. Players are encouraged to wash hands routinely. Frequent hand washing with soap and water is one of the best preventions we can reccommend. Teams are encouraged to carry extra hand soap or hand sanitizer as not all arenas have this readily available.
3. Do not share water bottles, towels or personal items that may cause spread of germs.
